India & Canada intensifying trade negotiations

India and Canada are intensifying negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), with trade and industry leaders from both countries exploring opportunities to expand bilateral trade, investment and business cooperation.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, along with his Canadian counterpart Maninder Sidhu, addressed the Team Canada Trade Mission to India.

The visit marks a new chapter in India-Canada economic engagement, with nearly 300 delegates accompanying Minister Sidhu, reflecting growing interest in strengthening partnerships between the two countries. The leaders highlighted the potential of the proposed India-Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement to provide a strong foundation for expanding bilateral trade and investment.
