Receiving IFRC delegation: MoH Union Minister received IFRC delegation

Union Minister for the Ministry of Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win received IFRC Regional Director for Asia-Pacific Region, Mr. Alexander James Matheou, Head of Delegation of IFRC Ms. Nadia Christine Khoury and the delegation led by Chair of the Myanmar Red Cross Society, Dr. Myo Nyunt, at the reception hall of the Ministry on Monday.

During the meeting, they cordially discussed about the issues of providing humanitarian assistances in Myanmar in cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the Myanmar Red Cross Society, provision of humanitarian aid to households and people affected by natural disasters without discrimination and to provide humanitarian assistance in conflict areas in accordance with humanitarian principles without harming the country’s interests, the participation of representatives of the Myanmar Red Cross Society in the regional work coordination meetings and workshops of the World Red Cross Societies and to support in enhancement of the capacity building of Myanmar Red Cross Society and further cooperation.

The Union Minister accompanied by the Deputy Minister, Director General (Union Minister Office), the Director General of the Department of Public Health, Director General of the Department  of Medical Services and the Vice Chair and officials of Myanmar Red Cross Society attended the meeting.
