Agriculture & Livestock Sector: Boosting Production of products in Ayeyawady Region discussed

A work coordination meeting on accelerating the manufacturing of value-added products based on agriculture, livestock and farming industries was held in Pathein on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by Chief Minister of Ayeyawaddy Region U Tin Maung Win, Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi, district/township-level governmental officials and staff.

The meeting discussed matters on boosting per acre yield for food sufficiency and promoting export, effective utilization of cooperative efforts by private sector and farmers for agricultural inputs and sharing technologies, creating job opportunities and increase income for those who involve in exporting of value-added farming products, widely utilization of modern technologies in boosting production of consumer goods and development of private investment.

After the meeting, Deputy Minister Dr Aung Gyi and party visited HteikTan Dairy Farm in Nyaung Done Township and inspected the breeding of dairy cows, milk steamer and animal feed plantation. They also viewed the production process of ready to drink milk and fulfill the needs.
