Paukphaw Scholarship: 497,608 students across the country were presented

For 2022-2023 Academic Year, cash distribution ceremony of Paukphaw Scholarship Project was held at the Yangon University of Education on 28th February. A total of over 1,700 students are attending at the YUE and among them, 200 YUE students were presented Paukphaw Scholarship.

Pro-Rector, Dr. Nyo Nyo Lwin, YUE said "Every scholarship student will receive 500,000 kyats for 2 semesters per year. The students are very pleased because of scholarship because some students have financial problem to attend the school and some are from other regions and states to stay in hostels for their education."

Paukphaw Scholarship Project aimed to have equal education for students, to create job opportunities, to achieve their careers, to promote social living standards, to grow economic sector in developing countries and to improve education opportunities.

Final Year Student, Ni Tar Lin, YUE said "I’m proud of myself because I’m one of the students who won scholarship among over 1,000 students in YUE. This is the poverty eradication project. As a final year student, I’ve got an idea that what kind of poverty eradication program can be implemented in the education field."

According to the representative from China Foundation from Rural Development Myanmar Office, the project provided 11.82 million USD in 13 regions and states with 144 townships from 2015 to 2022 and the scholarship awards were presented to 497,608 students.
