Chairman of the Myanmar Consumer Protection Commission Union Minister for Commerce U Aung Naing Oo addressed the Commission’s meeting 1/2023 on Wednesday afternoon.

In his address, the Union Minister stressed that very few people know that the rights to explain, complain and remedy are given as consumer rights by law. Consumers have rights provided by law, but on the other hand, they also have obligations to follow the law.

In this regard, it is necessary to carry out awareness activities, mainly focusing on middle-aged and young people. Consumer Affairs committees in regions and states have to take effective actions.

The Chairman also called for efforts to innovate and carry out a wide range of programs that can be of interest to consumers to mark the World Consumer Rights Day. This meeting continued with reports on implementation of the decisions made in the previous meeting and actions to be decided.
