Undertakings in 2022-2023 FY: Ministry of Construction holds coordination meeting

A coordination meeting for undertakings of the Ministry of Construction during 2022-2023 financial year was held at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday. In his opening address, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant said that the meeting will discuss  and coordinate with the region and state directors for the tasks that have been undertaken by the Ministry in 2022-2023 fiscal year, facing the difficulties, human resource development and civil service affairs.

The Ministry of Construction is undertaking for the state construction tasks in line with the policies and objectives of the Ministry and it needs to emphasize on the "Quality Control Management System” in implementing the construction works. The Union Minister stressed on the long-term dusrability in constructing buildings, maintenance tasks, constructing roads in line with the Highways Law, meeting set standards, effective quality control system, drafting plans for unrban and rural development in regions and states, fulfilling the needs of housings for the people, the state service personnel and retired civil servants and thrifty use of public finance in implementing the projects.

Later, Deputy Minister U Win Pe discussed to report progress of works being undertaken by Region/State directors, to follow financial rules and regulations and called on the staffs to be loyal on the state and the department and to be free from political party activities. Later, the permanent secretary reported on the policies of the Ministry, objectives, responsibilities, financial affairs and tender rules. Officials then reported the projects according to the financial year, progress of works, work programs to be implemented, civil service affairs and implementation of the projects by respective departments on which the Union Minister fulfilled the needs.
