1st day session: Meeting of 8thState Sangha Central Working Committee

The 5th meeting of the 8th State Sangha Central Working Committee was held its 1st day session at the Maha Pathana Cave in Yangon on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by State Ovadacariya Sayadaws, State SanghaMahaNayaka Sayadaws, State Sangha Central Working Committee member Sayadaws, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U KoKo and other officials of relevant departments.

Before the meeting, the Union Minister and officials donated cash for the State Ovada Sariya Sayadaws, the State Sangha MahaNayaka Sayadaws and Sayadaws of the State Sangha Central Working Committee. The State Sangha Central Working Committee Chairman Dr Bhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa presided over the meeting and the Joint Secretary Sayadaw acted as the master of ceremonies.

The Sayadaws then recited the relevant sermons for three times at the meeting. The State OvadaSariyaSayadaw delivered OvadaGathas. The Committee Chairman Sayadaw then gave Saraniya OvadaGatha. Afterwards, Union Minister U KoKo presented the religious affairs.

They then took records of deceased Ovadacariya Sayadaws, State SanghaMaha Nayaka Committee member Sayadaws, State Sangha Central Working Committee Sayadaws from Taboung 1383 to 1384 ME and approved the names of newly selected Sayadaws. The records of the State Sangha MahaNayaka Committee conducted during one year, Vinisara , Sasana and academic matters were read out at the 1st day session. 3 Sayadaws from Sri Lanka who were conferred AggaMahaPandita title at the religious title conferring ceremony 2023 and Sri Lankan Ambassador to Myanmar also graced the meeting.
