Meeting in Kyaukphyu: SAC Chairman calls for efforts for development

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on Tuesday met with the Kyaukphyu District/township-level governmental employees, town elders and officials from the Kyaukphyu Special Economic Zone.

In the meeting at the Ramma Wadi Hall in Kyaukphyu Township, the Senior General heard reports on the Kyaukphyu Special Economic Zone, completed and ongoing projects, plans, information on the Kyaukphyu District and requirements for regional development.

In his response, the Senior General stressed the government’s efforts for the country's prosperity and food security, importance for stability in the state and educational promotion for human resource development and the need to accelerate agriculture and livestock sector with proper techniques and pure strains and to conserve environment. Regarding the Kyaukphyu Special Economic Zone, the Senior General said that the Kyaukphyu Deep Sea Port was designed to further develop foreign trade activities.

He also highlighted efforts for development of the MSME industry and tourism sector. After the meeting, the Senior General visited the Kyaukphyu Education Degree College, heard report on construction of the 3-storey building and fulfilled requirements. He also inspected the new building of the School of Nursing and Midwifery and gave necessary instructions.
