Myanmar CDC Project: Construction set to be completed in December

Construction of the Myanmar Centers for Disease Control and Training Center for Medical Staff (Myanmar CDC) is underway in Dekkhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw.

The constructions of the Myanmar CDC is a project worth about 400 million Yuan and it includes a three-storey building for disease control activities and international bio safety level-3 and level-2 laboratories, two-storey for management and a three-storey teaching building where health workers can stay and train.

This project is set to be completed in December this year. Upon completion, technical supports for the prevention and control of infectious diseases as well as diagnostics, conducting research and training will be carried out at one place.

This project also covers training courses for Myanmar health workers by experts from China, and the Myanmar health workers will be sent to China for necessary training courses. The project will create an international level Disease Control Center and Training Center for Medical Staff and the public health care sector will be more developed.
