





Aiming for locals and foreign visitors to study about the historical research easily, registering the list of ancient accessories, Buddha images, stupas, stone inscriptions and household utensils from Dhanyawaddy, Waithali, Laymro and Mrauk-U era in English and Myanmar Languages is being undertaken in Mrauk-U Archaeological Museum. Likewise, registered works in Myanmar Language have been completed at 100%.
Director General, Department of Archaeology and National Museum, Kyi Khin said "4 great eras named Dhanyawaddy, Waithali, Laymro and Mrauk-U have flourished in Mrauk-U and ancient heritages of 4 eras are on display in relevant Mrauk-U Archaeological Museum. Plans are underway to renew and renovate the captions and labels of the displayed items in the Mrauk-U archaeological museum as undertaking in National Museums. Labeling captions in Myanmar Language is 100% completed and labeling work in English by relevant departmental staffs is still at the beginning stage. "
The Museum is open daily from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm except Monday and gazatted holidays. Efforts are also being made to inscribe Mrauk-U on the UNESCO World Heritage List and pre-analysis of ancient heritages and recording process of historical item lists will be supported to be described on UNESCO heritage list.
Preparations are being made to be able to conveniently study the historical evidences and facts for locals and foreigners in Myanmar and English languages at the museum. Local visitors can freely come to the museum with free of charge and 5,000 Kyats of entrance fees will be charged for foreigners. Taking record about the visitors’ names and addresses by relevant museum staffs is needed.
