The construction of the jetty at the National Races Village (Yangon), located on the bank of Bago River in Thakayta Township has completed 77.85 percent. The construction tasks have been organized by the tender winning Regal Strength Co., Ltd starting August 2022.

San Hlaing, Deputy Director, National Races Village (In-charge), said " The National races Village is located beside Bago River and at the bottom of Thanlyin Bridge. If people visit the National Races village from downtown, they can face difficulties on traffic jams and taking long driving hours. If people come to the National Races Village by star ferry through Pansodan jetty, they will reach the village within 30 minutes. The jetty will provide easy transportation access for the people in Yangon but also in people in the upper part of Bago River."

With the completion of the jetty, not only the Star City water bus but also international cruises can dock at the village and it is expected to attract more domestic.

San Hlaing, Deputy Director, National Races Village (In-charge), said " Upon completion of the jetty, the tourists from local and abroad can visit through the waterway so that we construct the wharf in a large size. We have also a plan that foreigners can cook the traditional food of ethnic people by themselves at the ethnic houses. It aims to show our tradition and customs to the world."

The jetty is expected to complete 100 percent in the end of this budget year and upon completion, the new services will be also provided for local/foreign travellers by River Cruise.
