Institute of Vocational Education: Aiming to emerge skilled labour& HRD

With the aim to emerge skilled labours and to have human resource development in Myanmar, the technical trainings are being conducted at the Dual Tech Institute of Vocational Education that is accredited by the National Skills Standards Authority (NSSA) in Yankin Township of Yangon region.

Yin Yin Aye, General Manager, Dual Tech Institute of Vocational Education, said " We are conducting air-conditioning and refrigerator repairing, welding and pipe fitting trainings and other advanced courses. The diploma courses as well as free courses are being opened. After the courses, we also train the trainees to make assessment tests."

During two decades, the Institute has nurtured up to 60,000 trainees for vocational education.  

Trainer, said " We teach home-used air conditioning, servicing and practical works. We teach the courses in the basic theory and practical works. The training time is at 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. The practical work is at 1 pm to 5 pm. During the training period, we teach trainees the facts of NSSA and also train them after the course."

Trainee, said " In air-conditioning training, we learn indoor and outdoor activities. In the electrical course, the mechanic facts are taught us in detail. We attend this course to be competent in a vocational education."

The Dual Tech Institute of Vocational Education was opened in 2003 and currently, 2 vocational schools have been opened in Rakhine State and two schools in Yangon Region and over 60,000 trainees have been nurtured.
