75th Anniversary Chin National Day: Significant day for the Chin ethnic nationalities

To commemorate the 75th anniversary Diamond Jubliee of Chin National Day, the regional level ceremony was held on 20th February at the Shwe Sett Taw pagoda in Magway Region. According to the historical event, 20th February this year was the 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubliee of Chin National Day, a significant day for the entire Chin ethnics.

Tun Khin, Minister of Chin Ethnic Affairs, Magaway Region, said " The Chin people are the mostly ethnic groups living in Magway region. We were gathered and together celebrate the 75th Diamond Jubliee of China National Day. The ceremony was included traditional dances and foods and attended by literary and cultural groups. And greet and meet with each other and exchange things in ceremony. The China National day is like Independence day, and it has been a Diamond Jubliee. We will move forward from the Diamond Jubliee and work together with all ethnic groups to develop the nation."

Mai Lwin Lwin Soe, Min Hla Township, said " Today is a special day and it is good to hold a ceremony to celebrate the Chin National Day. We can meet with relative people in the ceremony."

Slim Fal, Min Tone Township, said " At the ceremony, I am happy to gathered and cooperate with all Chin ethnic groups."

Chin National Assembly was held in Falam from 19th to 22nd February 1948, with the attendance of over 5,000 representatives, and laid down the future plans for practicing democracy. February 20th was designated as the Chin National Day, and it reached 75th anniversary.
