Pedigree Goat Farm: Htein San goat species are standardized for breeders

Pedigree goat farm in Minhla township of Magway region is being disseminated best pedigree goats along with sharing and demonstrating breeding and production works for the villages and breeders. 

The goat farm is located at 18 miles and 5 furlongs east of Minbu-Minhla road and it was established in 2005 with the aim of keeping best local pedigree goats and spreading awareness along with the opening of basic breeding training courses.

At present, Htein San best livestock goat species are being bred in 2021-22 fiscal year with 102 numbers of goat and distributed for the villages and breeders.

Township Administrator, Pwint Myat Noe Theint, Breeding and Veterinary Department (MinHla), said " Htin San goat species, they have big body, and male goats have good muscular increase when adult carrying good market price, they have good good reproduction. This pedigree also adaptable with climate condition and eat plenty of foods which are available in tropical region. So, breeders should breed."

Selling with current market price, 20 goats were distributed in Minbu Township in December 2022. 

Township Administrator, Pwint Myat Noe Theint, Breeding and Veterinary Department (MinHla), said " Mainly we have to take care of infectious diseases. We need to breed ratios between male and female goats and need to feed full of nutrients. For the breeders, they also need to choose good goat species."

At present, there are 93 goats in the farms breeding with free range system. Soft foods are also provided as supplements and vaccinating for the infectious diseases are also being conducted.
