COVID-19 Update: 2 new COVID-19 cases reported on February 16

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures. The Ministry reported 2 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Thursday after testing 4,359 patients within 24 hours. At the time of the report, there’s no patient who died due to the disease while 2 patients have recovered. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 633,877 with 19,490 deaths and 614,355 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, China, India, France, Germany, Brazil, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Italy and the United Kingdom, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 5:41pm CET, 16 February 2023, there have been over 756 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.84 million deaths.
