The 100th Pitakat books donation ceremony organized by the Burma Buddhist Merited Association (BBMA) was held at the Mingun Tipitaka Nikaya Monastery in Yangon on the 16th of February, 2023.

The congregation opened the ceremony with a three-time recitation of Namo Tassa and took five Precepts from the Budalin Sayadaw. At this ceremony, Pitakat treaties books, luggage and many other offertories were donated to the 16 Ovadacariya Sayadawgyi and also to 79 members of the Sangha and 5 nuns who passed the exam.

Chairman, Burma Buddhist Merited Association, Myint Win said "We mainly donate Pitakat books to members of the Sangha to study Pariyatti. Our BBMA was established in 1915 with the aim of preserving the Pariyatti Sasana and has reached its 108th anniversary this year. I believe that as long as the members of the Sangha preserve Pariyatti, our Theravada Buddhism will survive as long as the world exists."

At this ceremony, 500,000 Kyats each were donated to the 16 Ovadacariya Sayadawgyi and 300,000 Kyats each and 200,000 Kyats each were donated to the 79 members of the Sangha and 5 nuns who passed the exam.

Vice Chairman, Burma Buddhist Merited Association, Myo Nyunt said "Our Association always conducts Buddha puja, Damma Puja and Sangha puja. This is Sangha puja. So, today, we donated Pitakat books to the members of the Sangha and nuns. There are many types of donations. Among them, Dhamma donation is the greatest and noblest one as it’s the biggest support to preserve Theravada Buddhism. We will try to be able to donate for years from this 100th time donation. "

Over 130 donors participated in this donation ceremony of Pitakat books. A donor expressed how the donation plays a key role in spreading the Theravada Buddhism and called for donation.

Chairperson, U Nu Daw Mya Yi Foundation, Than Than Nu (donor) said "I make donation here very often. I am very pleased to be able to donate Tripiṭaka at this 100th donation ceremony of the BBMA. Donation to the members of the Sangha and nuns is good since they are the ones who can and will spread the Buddha's Dispensation. This donation ceremony plays a big role in spreading the Theravada Buddhism. If there is an abundance of donors, we can maintain the Buddha Sāsana for a long time. "

The Ovadacariya Sayadawgyi, members of the Sangha and nuns who passed the religious examination were offered day meals (soon), and donors and guests were also served with delicious meals.
