Illegal Trade: Illegal goods and timber confiscated

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 13th and 14thof February, illegal goods including child bicycles, instant noodle, shampoo, beer, timber, cooking oil, foodstuffs and teak worth over 545 million Kyats were confiscated at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint and on the Myawaddy-Hpa-an-Yangon Road as well as at the 16-mile Checkpoint and in Tanintharyi Region, Bogalay, Yegyi and Ingapu townships, on the Mawlamyaing-Yangon Road, at the Yebu Checkpoint and in Thayawaddy and Nyaunglebin districts.

Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
