In Commemoration of Union Day: Celebration at People’s Square in Yangon

Galleries of the ministries, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory and regions and states as well as ethnic traditional foods and local products sale booths in commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of Union Day at the People’s Square in Dagon Township of Yangon Region was bustling with visitors on the final day on Tuesday.

The event was held from 9 am to 10 pm from the 10th to the 14th of February for five days. It included 25 galleries of the ministries, 15 galleries of the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory and regions and states as well as 15 ethnic foods and 382 booths of MSME products for the public visit free-of-charge. Charity feast along with entertainment programme was also provided to the visitors.

Objectives of the 76th Anniversary of Union Day are to strive for the perpetual existence of national solidarity and perpetuity of the Union through the internal strength; to make collaborative efforts of all ethnic nationals to restore perpetual and durable peace; to join hands in harmony for ensuring the prosperity and food sufficiency of the nation as two national plans through the Union spirit; to help develop all regions and states on equal terms and increase employment opportunities with ensuring the health and fitness of the entire National people; and to practise the genuine, discipline-flourishing multiparty democratic system through fraternity, solidarity and united endeavours of all ethnic national brethren for building the Union based on democratic and federal systems.
