Illegal Trade: Illegal goods, vehicles and timber confiscated

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 9th, 10th and 11th of February, illegal goods including COVID-19 test kits, electronic equipment and foodstuffs as well as vehicles, auto accessories, truck, trailer and timber worth over 424 million Kyats were confiscated at the Yangon International Airport, at the Myanmar Industrial Container Checkpoint, at the Asia World Container checkpoint, at the Mayanchaung checkpoint, at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) combined checkpoint, at the Asia Highway combined checkpoint  and in South Oakkalapa Township as well as in Sagaing Township and on Shwegyin-Madauk-Nyaunglebin road.

Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
