









A ceremony to convey the Part(4) of Mara Vijaya Buddha Image onto the Yadana Throne was held in the Buddha Park, situated in Dekkhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on Saturday.
The ceremony was graced by members of the Sangha led by State Ovada Cariya Sayadaw of Maha Thiha Nada Monastery in Tatkone Bhaddanta Aciṇṇa, Sayadaw of Inntha East Monastery in Lewe Bhanddata Pandita, Region Ovada Cariya WaeGyi Monastery of Pobbathiri Township Bhanddata Addiccavamsa and Ovada Cariya Sayadaw for construction of Mara Vijaya Buddha Image, Patron of Pyinmana Pali University Mingala Zayyon Monastery Bhaddanta Vimalabuddhi, together with the attendance of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Vice Chairman of the Council, Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win, the Secretary, Joint Secretary and members of the council, the Union Ministers, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, Senior Military Officers from the Commander-in-Chief Office, Nay Pyi Taw Command Commander, invited guests and members of Wut Associations.
The ceremony was opened by reciting Namo Tassa three times, followed by the religious rituals. The congregation listened to the Parittas and Gadas, delivered by the Sayadaws. Led by the Sayadaws, the Prime Minister and party took positions at the designated places and sprinkled scented water to the Yadana Throne, Steel Frame that include Part(4) of the Buddha Image and the Steel Tower Crane.
At the auspicious time, the Prime Minister pressed the button to commence the conveying of Part (4) of Buddha Image onto the Yadana Throne. Members of the Sangha recited the religious Gadas while the conveying processes are being carried out according to the procedures.
The Yadana Throne is 18 ft high, 72 ft long and 54 ft wide while the total weight of the Part(4) of Buddha Image is 500 tons. The ceremony concluded after sharing merits gained.
The Mara Vijaya Buddha Image is established with the aims to show the world that Theravada Buddhism is firmly flourishing in Myanmar, to bring peace and prosperity to the country, to gain regional development by bringing local and foreign pilgrims to the Buddha Image and to support the development of the country.
The total weight of Buddha Image that connects Part (1, 2 and 3) is 1,700 tons, and these parts have been conveyed onto the Yadana Throne successfully from 26th to 31st January. The donated precious gens by the well-wisher across the country have already been deposited to the repository with the ceremonies on 27th January and 10th February.
For the reverence of the public, the Stone Inscription Cetis, Water Fountain Platforms, Pagoda Platform, Thudhamma Prayer Halls and the Entrance Road of the Buddha Park are illuminated with electric lights during the night time.
