






Marking 76th Anniversary Union Day, Food and Products Exhibition is taking place at the People’s Square in Yangon for 5 days along with promoting traditional cultures and regional food and products of national ethnic peoples.
It includes 15 booths of Regions and States including Nay Pyi Taw council area, 25 booths of ministries, 15 booths of ethnic traditional food and local products.
Member, Booth Exhibition Committee (Thaninthayi), Khin Maung Soe said "We’ve prepared to exhibit the booths representing Thaninthayi region since 1st February. As the region has over 800 islands, our regional products are marine products. In our booth, the pearl culturing and production processes and mineral products are going to showcase and aquatic products like Mantis shrimp, Mangrove Horseshoe Crabs are to be exhibited alive. Traditional foods like Meik fried noodle, Dawei Moke Lat Thoke and other traditional snacks will be put on sale for the consumers."
Deputy Director, Small Scale Industries Department, Nwe Ni said "Our booth will display handicrafts which are being showcased in our Myanmar Handicraft Center, weaving items from 13 weaving and vocational training department, lacquerware products from lacquerware College, consumer goods produced by Research Development of our department and also harvester, bamboo strips weaving machine from our Industry section. Here, people can be available one-stop service for the handicrafts from all over the country with fair prices."
At the same time, rice and curry will be sold for all comers with affordable prices.
Administrator, Mingala Taungnyunt Township, Mya Thein Tun said "Organized by our Yangon Region Government, we have 500 kyats with vegetable and 800 kyats with meat for buffet. Everyone could come and join us. From 9am to around 8 pm we are about to serve and basically the curries of chicken, fish, egg, beef plus fish paste and fresh vegetables and sour soup."
76th Union Day Commemorative Fair including numerous exhibition booths showcasing regional food and products will be held from 10th to 14th February at the People’s Square in Yangon.
