Shan State Day: SAC members attended 76th Anniversary Shan State Day

The ceremony of 76th Anniversary Shan State Day was held at AweiYar hot air balloon Square of Taunggyi Township at 7 AM on 7th February.

At the ceremony, Arkhar national race cultural troupe performed with “Say Say” song and member of State Administration Council Dr. Kyaw Tun read a message sent the State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister of Republic of Union of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing to the 76th Shan State Day.

Next, the Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye addressed a speech of 76th Shan State Day. He said the 7th February which is embryonic for the Union Day was designed as Shan National Day unanimously on 11th February by the meeting of Saophwars and public representatives during the Panglong Conference in 1947.

Around 1960, as Shan State is a home of many ethnic groups, it was changed as Shan State Day in a gesture of representing all Shan State resident national races. While the Union Government is implementing for the prevailing of stability, peace and development in the entire Republic of the union of Myanmar, the Shan State Government will be carried out by joining hands with the resident national brethren.

From such a significant Shan State day proved the unity of all national brethren, it is wished for the Shan State to be stable, peaceful and developed and does the whole union and to build the union based the democracy and federal system.

Then, the Lisu national race cultural troupe performed the Lisu traditional New Year dance and the honorary certificate and honorary prize recipients were awarded at the 76th Anniversary Shan State Day.

The honorary certificates and honorary prizes were awarded by the State Administration Council members Dr. Kyaw Tun, Daw Dwe Bu, Poe Ral Aung Thein, U Shwe Kyein, the security and law and order and the agricultural outstanding award recipients were awarded by the Union Minister for Hotel and Tourism U Aung Thaw, Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung, livestock breeding and social outstanding award recipients by Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye, Chief Justice of the state high court U Than Lwin Oo, Commander of East Command, deputy ministers, Shan state ministers and the 250 sets of solar panels donated by the Ministry of Border Affairs were presented by the deputy minister for border affairs Ma-J Gen. Khun Thant Zin Htoo and the Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye accepted. Afterward, Shan, Wa and Pa-O national races performed with traditional cultural dances and documentary group photo was taken.

Then, the opening ceremony of 76th Anniversary Shan State Day exhibition booths was held and the members of State Administration Council Daw Dwe Bu, Poe Ral Aung Thein, Dr. Kyaw Tun, U Shwe Kyein, Union Ministers U Aung Thaw and Jeng Phang Naw Taung opened the exhibition booths by cutting the ceremonial ribbon and the guests observed the exhibition booths, it’s learnt.
