






The 2-day the National Landmark Sculpturing and Painting Youth Camp for LMC Fine Arts Students concluded in Mandalay on Monday.
This program is part of Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Project. 4 painters, sculptors and artists and a leader from each Mekong-Lancang countries such as China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam including Myanmar explained their painting and sculpturing arts.
The National University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay) hosted this program to promote friendship and cooperation among the young artists, which could strengthen the friendly relations among the Mekong region countries, to promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding and to preserve some of the fine arts works have been facing the challenges of extinction along with the development of technology.
Aung San Oo, Rector, NUAC (Mandalay) said "There are 6 countries where the Mekong river is flowing through. It has also Sanya declaration to cooperate the countries along Mekong basin river. In the Sanya declaration, there are 3 pillars: Political and Security Cooperation, the Economic and Sustainable Development Cooperation and the Social, Cultural and People-to-People Exchanges. This event is implemented the 3rd pillars by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture."
In the 2-day event, the national landmark sculpturing and painting arts illustrated by students of respective countries were discussed.
Yu Nandar Tun, Final year student, NUAC (Mandalay) said "My painting illustrates the mural painting in Bagan Era. As it is depicted tradition, I drew in detail. I faced many difficulties but I drew it under the guidance of my teachers. I’m very satisfied as I have a chance to share about my country to others."
The Rector of the National University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay) said that by holding this kind of event, the students will learn about the diverse cultures of each country and have more cooperation.
Aung San Oo, Rector, NUAC (Mandalay) said "The students who will become future leaders will learn about the diverse cultures of one country to another. We hope, the regional countries will also have more cooperation and unity through the friendship and cooperation of the youths by unifying the diverse things."
This is the 3rd event organized by the National University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay).
