Myanmar Coffee Demand: Around 10,000-ton produced and exported yearly

In 2022-2023, the raw material of Myanmar coffee has reached in highest demand both in domestic and global markets and has a good price. In Myanmar, about 8,000 to 10,000 tonnes of coffee are produced locally and exported to Japan, Korea, and other ASEAN countries every year. 

Myo Aye, Chairman, Myanmar Coffee Association, said " The harvest season of Myanmar coffee is between December and March. The coffee beans are usually sold not only in local but also in foreign markets. In the previous years, the Brazil coffee production declined and the demand of Myanmar coffee started to high demand in global market. Our Association has been carrying out the educational activities to maintain the coffee quality, check quality control and holding the exhibitions for market expansion. Myanmar coffees are exported to U.S., Canada and European countries as well as Japan and Korea via sea route and mainly exported to China and Thailand through the border gate." 

During November 2022 and February 2023, there will be an harvest season of Myanmar coffee and working to export more tonnes of coffee to U.S, Netherlands, Australia, Japan, Korea, French, Germany, Switzerland, Thailand and China than last year, the Chairman of Myanmar Coffee Association said.
