Boosting Production: Thaketa and Thilawa Industrial Zones inspected

Union Minister for Agriculture and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo and officials visited Thaketa Industrial Zone in Yangon on 24th June.

The Union Minister inspected the production process of the Fish and Prawn Cold Storage Factory, and urged to produce value-added products for boosting income.

He also stressed for creating job opportunities of local people, and breeding of fish and prawn in addition to the production of fresh water fish and prawn.

The Union Minister and party later visited to Thilawa Development Zone, and inspected the rice mill and bran oil factory as well as the production process of foodstuff, edible oil and packaging process.

The Union Minister discussed the needs to establish small and medium oil factories and to implement contract farming system among the entrepreneurs and farmers.

The Union Minister also met with the entrepreneurs and discussed production of fertilizers, providing the needs of agricultural inputs and exporting raw materials.
