Ancient Oil Lamp: Vesali Era Brass Oil Lamp Handed Over To Rakhine State Govt.

Efforts are being made Mrauk-U Archaeological site in Rakine State to be inscribed on World Heritage List.

Hanlin, Beikthano, Sri Ksetra of PyuAncient City, Bagan Archaeological site and MahaLawkaMarazein Kuthodaw Pagoda in Mandalay, Myazedi and Raza Kumar inscription in Bagan Archaeological Museum, King BayintNaung Bell Inscriptionsat Shwezigon Pagoda in Nyaung U and the golden leaf letter of King Alaungphayain Hanover of Germany were registered in the World Heritage List.

Moreover, Anandasandrastone inscription in Shittaung Pagoda of Mrauk-U was on Asia Pacific Regional Memory of the World Register.

That’s why, Mrauk U Archaeological Zone in Rakhine State has been applied to recognize as the World Heritage site. Rakhine state is a home to ancient historic pagodas and stupas, ancient coils and ancient cultural handiworks.

Ancient oil lamp from Vesaliperiod kept by Historical ResearcherU San (Shwebo)was handed over to the Rakhine State Government on 21st June.Vesali Era ancient oil lamp was casted with brass between 3 AD and 8 AD andits height is 9 inches and Ayan Nar  contribution was written by Rahhavana alphabet at the pedestal of the lamp.
