Imported infant formula is selling in some grocery stores amid a nationwide baby formula shortage.  At a Stew Leonard's grocery store in Yonkers, New York, has put 11,000 bottles of Similac infant formula on sale.  The formula from Puerto Rico and is currently trying to import more from Germany.

Eileen Taylor, Grandmother said “But I don't think you can blame the White House, the president. I think it has a lot to do with the pandemic and everything being short and the factory closing down because it was contaminated. You know, people have to understand it's not just one thing. It's a culmination of things."

Months of spot shortages at pharmacies and supermarkets have been exacerbated by the recall at Abbott, which was forced to shutter its largest U.S. formula manufacturing plant in February due to contamination concerns. In recent weeks the government has imported foreign supplies and used the Defense Production Act to speed domestic production of infant formula.
