Immigration And Population: Union Minister Attends The Work Coordination Meeting

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Khin Yi attended a work coordination meeting of the Ministry on 16th May.

The Union Minister said the ministry is carrying out the task for issuing the National Registration Card through Pan Khin project. Over 3.4 million people will be issued the NRC cards through the 18-month project from 3rd May 2021 to 3rd November 2022.

Despite the obstacles due to COVID-19 outbreak and security measures, the project has been completed over 95%. He stressed that the ministry has to prioritize for data entry process for collecting the accurate voter list. He also pointed out the needs to make cooperative measures with the concerned departments, and to carry out the tasks in line with the rules and regulations.

The officials from the Regions and States reported on the work implementations for Pan Khin project, data entry process to support the voter list collection, and supervising the foreign residents’ affairs.
