Deputy Director General, Yangon Region Education Office, Kyaw Moe Htun said “We had attended the central-level workshop in Nay Pyi Taw. The attendees there are giving the lectures back to the Region-level ones. After the workshop, the management skills of the teachers attending will improve. The attendees of this workshop will again give lectures to other principals of basic education schools at township-level. Therefore, the competence of these teachers will increase tremendously, and they will be able to carry out their duties according to the education system established by the government.”

The attendees will have to conduct training again to the remaining township level education officers on the knowledge about management and financial matters.

District Education Officer, Yangon North District Education Office, Dr. Thin Mar Lar said “We had already lectured some of the subjects before, but this workshop also reminds us again what we had forgotten. The workshop will educate the principals and township education officers what they need to know about management and financial knowledge, and how to keep the workplace fast and convenient. As a teacher, we lack the financial knowledge such as accounting. To be able to understand these thoroughly and to provide knowledge about project evaluation, township education officers and some principals are given such lectures. After this workshop, we will also give lectures to other principals who haven’t attended these township-level workshops yet. If these types of lectures are provided once a year during summer holidays, we will be able to correct our mistakes gradually. Then, we can have an improved, faster and better workplace.”

The workshop is being held for 2 days from May 5th to May 6th, and a total of 184 township officers and basic education principals are attending the workshop.
