Mass testing continues in China city hit by virus

Mass coronavirus testing continued in the northeastern Chinese province of Jilin over the weekend after authorities reported more than 1,191 new cases in the latest 24-hour period. Of the cases, 1,191 were reported in the province of Jilin, 158 in Fujian, 51 in Shandong, 51 in Guangdong, and 39 in Liaoning respectively.

Two new quarantine facilities completed construction in Changchun city on Saturday. In addition, nearly 1,800 medical workers arrived in Changchun from other cities to provide aid. Two COVID-19 deaths were reported on Saturday. The deaths, both in Jilin province, bring the country's coronavirus death toll to 4,638.
