





Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Aung Than Oo together with Ayeyawaddy Region Minister for Natural Resources U Ohn Myint and departmental officials inspected operation of Nyaungdon/Maubin oil field in Ayeyawady Region on 6th March.
On arrival at Nyaungdon /Maubin oil field, the acting manager of the oil field reported on location and area of the oil field, production and distribution of oil and natural gas, drilling new wells to produce more oil and gas, measures for education, health and socio-economic development for the villages and locals around oil and gas field, repairing of fuel storage tank and pipe lines.
The Union Minister called for more production of oil and natural gas, measures for welfares of the staff, completion of the tasks within the target, saving the state budget, ccoordinating with relevant departments in constructing pipelines and sufficient use of electricity.
The Nyaungdon/Maubin oil and gas field produces 70 barrels of condensate and 22.5 million cubic feet of natural gas per day and the condensate is transported to the Petrochemical Factory Group (Than Para Kan) refinery to produce motor oil that is necessary for the country.
In addition, natural gas from this area is being distributed to (Myaungtaga, Kan Gyi Daunt) fertilizer plant, liquefied natural gas plant (Nyaungdon) and factories and workshops in Yangon Region and CNG vehicles in the public transport sector. The Union Minister and party then inspected production process of LPG Plant (Nyaungdon) and gave necessary instructions.
