Testing for COVID-19: Nay Pyi Taw is accelerating COVID-19 control measures

People from regions and states including service personnel who come to Nay Pyi Taw have been conducted COVID-19 test at the entrance gate in the city starting 4th February.

About 24,000 people were tested until 27th February and 413 were found to be infected with COVID-19, according to the Deputy Head of Nay Pyi Taw Public Health Department. COVID-19 confirmed patients were sent to the respective treatment centers to give medical treatment and there was no critical condition.

COVID-19 control measures are being accelerated in Nay Pyi Taw and especially, the civil servants and the people with suspected symptoms are tested.

The Public Health Department is accelerating test for COVID-19 and measures are being undertaken to achieve fully vaccinated coverage. Public awareness on COVID-19 and omicron variant are being conducted extensively, official added.
