Investment & Tourism: Shan State Government organizes meetings

Shan State Investment Committee held its meeting (1/2021) at the State Government office in Taunggyi on Monday. Chairman of the Committee, Shan State Chief Minister Dr Kyaw Tun said that the meeting is to discuss constructing and renting of Kalaw villa advanced housing by Ohsi Mountain Public Co., Ltd. and it will be granted permission in line with rules and regulations.

He stressed the committee members to help the tasks that are operated within framework in line with the procedures. Officials also discussed plan on renting the housing,implementing the tasks and future plans on which the Chief Minister fulfilled the needs. Likewise, Shan State Tourism Work Committee organized its meeting 1/2022 on the same day.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Work Committee, the State Chief Minister Dr Kyaw Tun said that the tourism industries have significantly declined due to COVID-19 pandemic. At a time when international tourists are not yet available, it is necessary to run the industry with local visitors in line with COVID-19 guidelines.

There are 420 hotels and guest houses in Shan State and 311 hotels and guest houses that are resuming operations, have been presented regional level certification and 8 hotels have been awarded National Level Certificate.Safety training was provided to 65 hotels and 1,296 trainees on 3 trips, and 99% of hotel and guest house staffs were vaccinated.
