Small-scale industry products: Seeking market in local and abroad

The small-scale industry products are needed to make lab-test and registration at Small-scale Industries Department to be able to penetrate the products into the market and the registered products can be distributed to everywhere in local, an official of the Department said.

Thet Naing Oo (Deputy Director), Shan State Small-Scale Industries Department said “Our department makes lab-test for personal good, food stuff and cosmetics. Only when the product test results are passed, we will issue business registration. The businesses that are allowed to register can distribute their products to every part of the nation. If the products approved by our department are registered again in FDA, they can be distributed to foreign market.”

Nilar, Galon Min Nyi Naung said “We have raw materials because cotton is cultivated in our country. Now, people have known that cotton clothes, fabrics and blankets are good for health. I think we can compete cotton dresses and clothes produced from our country in the international market.”

Some small-scale industries are operating with much capital but some are running with a few amount. Now, they are hard to distribute their products among people and to the market because of pandemic, official added. 

Thet Naing Oo (Deputy Director), Shan State Small-Scale Industries Department said “There are a lot of small-scale industry products in the hand of business owners. But, they are facing difficulties to distribute these products to people and market because of pandemic. If the business owners make lab-test and registration to their products at our department, their products can be put on sale at the local market places such as shopping malls.”

The Small-scale Industries Department usually holds exhibitions for SME products enabling to penetrate into the market and it is also trying to connect with new societies to penetrate the products into the international market.
