Kachin State Situation: Trade, IDPs & COVID-19 Control & Emergency Response

Kachin State Government held a meeting on Myanmar-China trade, IDPs resettlement, IDP camp closure and COVID-19 control and emergency response on Wednesday.

Regarding the Myanmar-China trade, this meeting at the Kachin State Government Office attended by the Chief Minister Khet Htein Nan focused on laws, rules and regulations for the Myanmar-China trade regardin the import and export sectors, signing MoUs with Chinese merchant associations and formation of a monitoring team for trade route. For the IDPs resettlement and IDP camp closure, matters including houses contruction, water and electricity access and foodstuff provision, cooperation and the need to fulfill the requirements were discussed.

Regarding the COVID-19 control and emergency response, arrangements for treatment centers, quarantine centers, oxygen supply, prevention materials, vlunteering, cooperation with the public, awareness programmes and COVID-19 vaccination programme were discussed.
