







The Mon State Chief Minister U Zaw Lin Tun paid homage to the landmark of Mawlamyaing Township Kyaikthanlan pagoda in the morning on 20th February and inspected the laying one foot square marble slabs on the pagoda platform, construction of drainage for the good water flow on the pagoda platform during rainy season.
The laying one foot square marble slabs on the whole pagoda platform and all-round renovation works was started since 2021 and will be completed at the end of February, 2022 and about 40,000 marble slabs have been arranged to lay on the full platform of the pagoda.
Next, the Chief Minister and well wishers attended the launch of carving a marble stone which is 18 feet tall, 10 diameters wide and 60 tons weigh to be a Buddha Image protected by Naga- (mythical dragon-like creature to be resided at Eisathaya Theiddi LayKyun ThitsarShin NagaMauk Pagoda. The chief minister and well wishers sprinkled the marble stone with scented water.
Afterward, the chief minister and party viewed the qualification test for 43 candidates of deputy staff officers to be appointed in the Mon State environmental conservation department of the ministry of natural resources and environmental conservation and instructed to train the service personnel for the capacity enhancement and improvement of work skills.
