Illegal Trade Eradication: Steering Committee held Meeting

The Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee held its meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. Chairman of the Steering Committee, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Lt-Gen Soe Win gave a speech.

He said the eradication works for illegal trade need to be carry out effectively in order not to lose the taxation for the country, to promote competition among the local entrepreneurs, to ensure food safety for the consumers and to carry out national security and healthy lifestyle.

He pointed out to make action at the storages near border gates, transportation along the trade route, international airport and port terminals as well as major warehouses and distribution in the major cities.

He called for cooperation among the ministries, region and state governments. Secretary of the Steering Committee Deputy Minister for Commerce U Nyunt Aung later explained the work undertakings.

Officials also reported on work implementations and confiscation of illegal trade as well as security affairs and moving MayanChaung Check-point to the designated place.
