ASEAN / India: High Level Conference On Renewable Energy

Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Aung Than Oo addressed the virtual ASEAN-India High Level Conference on Renewable Energy.

In his address, the Union Minister explained the country’s current electricity generation, implementation of 13 solar power projects and plans to implement 3 more projects and efforts to implement floating solar and rooftop solar projects as well as small and medium hydropower projects.

He also pledged to further cooperate with the ASEAN member states. This 2-day conference under the theme of Experience and Innovations for Integrated Renewables Market on February 7 and 8 is organized by India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of External Affairs, the Energy and Resources Institute and ASEAN Centre for Energy. It focuses on cooperation on renewable energy, technologies and experiences.
