




The Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn met with the private TV Channels and FM Radio Broadcasting entrepreneurs at the meeting room of the ministry in the afternoon on February 2.
Speaking at the meeting, the union minister said that state-owned Medias are broadcasting true news for the public.
The destructive elements of toxic Medias which are unwanted the country’s stability, peace and unity are inciting public with fake news to be filled with rage and hatred toward the Government and the terrorists are also threatening the people with intimidatory tactics.
The prime minister acknowledged the crucial role of the media sector. The strength of the public is much needed for the development of the country. Only then the peace and stability prevail in the country, the people will be enabling to earn for living without worrying.
So, the media sector is requested to lend a hand for the spread of true news. This is a time to prioritize for the development of the country instead playing a blame game. Next, the deputy minister U Ye Tint clarified the process to be implemented by the media sector in the future.
Then, the responsible persons from the private TV Channels and FM Radio broadcasting services reported the current work implementations, future plans and the difficulties getting into the current broadcastings. After supplementing the discussions, the union minister gave a speech of conclusion.
