







The Union Minister for Hotel and Tourism Dr. Htay Aung on 29th January attended a meeting held with the hoteliers of Pyay District at Mingalar Garden Hotel in Pyay Township for the development of hotel and tourism sector.
Speaking at the meeting, the union minister said that the local tourism industry has been resuming apparently as of open season together with the decreasing of COVID-19 infections. The Sri Ksetra Pyu Ancient amateur bicycle riding festivity to be held on 30th January is a promotion campaign during the travel season by arriving the travelers attracted to the festivity, the industries related to the tourism and the socio-economic status of the local people will be prosperous.
The hotels in Pyay Township need a collective effort with the government, private sector and local peoples in unity for the sector-wise development in connection with the tourism sector.
Next, the Bago Region Government Minister for Social Affairs U Aung Min handed over regional level recommendation certificates under the Enchanting Myanmar Health & Safety Protocol to the hotels which have been inspected in line with the COVID-19 rules and disciplines and permitted to reopen and the responsible persons from the hotels accepted the certificate.
The union minister Dr. Htay Aung attended the Sri Ksetra Pyu Ancient amateur bicycle riding festivity organized by the Bago Region Government as a promotion campaign for the tourism by the sport. The amateur bicycle riding festivity started from a place in front of ShweBonThaMuni Pagoda by the blowing whistle of the Advocate General of Bago Region Government.
The bicycle riding course is ten miles long along the Nawaday Bridge, BayintNaung Junction, Myothit Road, Pyay-AungLan-PaukKhaung junction, World Heritage symbol to the BawBawGyi Pagoda. totaling over 320 bicycle riders participated. The Advocate General of Bago Region Government gave words of encouragement to the bicycle riders at the short rest places of Nawaday Bridge (at the bank of Pyay) and World Heritage Symbol.
At the prize presenting pandal in front of BawBawGyi Pagoda, the Union Minister, Chief Minister of Bago Region and officials awarded prizes and commemorated medals to every single bicycle riders who passed the finished line. A total of 20 bicycles were presented under lucky-drawing program and the bicycle riders under 12 years old were given consolation prizes.
Then, the union minister and party together with the bicycle riders posed for the documentary group photo with the backdrop of BawBawGyi Pagoda. Afterward, the union minister and party arrived at Mingalar Garden Hotel where hosted luncheon commemorating amateur bicycle riding festivity, union minister and chief minister extended words of thanks and exchanged gifts with the guests.
