




Myanmar hosted the 2nd ASEAN Digital Ministers’ Meeting (2nd ADGMIN) with the theme “Digital Transformation – the Engine for ASEAN Economic Recovery from COVID-19” via videoconferencing.
The 2nd day of the meeting on Friday was chaired by Union Minister Transport and Telecommunications Admiral Tin Aung San. The discussion with the dialogue partners China and India focused on ASEAN digital economy and policies, the economic sectors ASEAN and China will cooperate in 2022, successful projects in 2021 and projects under the 2022 ASEAN-China Digital Work Plan.
This dialogue approved the Action Plan for Implementing the ASEAN-China Partnership on Digital Economy (2021-2025), ASEAN-China Digital Work Plan 2022 and ASEAN-India Digital Work Plan 2022. Also, the ASEAN digital ministers confirmed that the Philippines will host the 3rd ASEAN Digital Ministers’ Meeting in 2022 December.
Union Minister Transport and Telecommunications Admiral Tin Aung San concluded the meeting with remarks. The Union Minister also made a speech at the press conference on the 2nd ASEAN Digital Ministers’ Meeting. The Joint Media Statement was explained and the questions raised by local media were answered. The press conference was followed by the virtual ASEAN ICT Awards presentation.
