






Kachin State Government is making efforts for development of agriculture sector, and food sufficiency in PutaO, the northernmost part of Myanmar. On January 22nd, Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and officials made field trip to PutaO District.
In meeting with the departmental personnel, social organizations and wards and village administrators, the Chief Minister explained the infrastructure development works, plans for distribution quality paddy strains, production of mustard oil and soy bean as local products and double and mixed-crop cultivation.
A harvestor, paddy strains and fertilizers were provided during the trip. The Chief Minister and party later visited to PanHlaing Ward and viewed the thriving vegetable plantations and the use of natural fertilizers. The Chief Miniser later took part in harvesting the potatoes together with the farmers.
They later visited Rawan Cultural Museum in Doattan Ward, and viewed the displays of ancient Rawan utensils, traditional instruments and weapons. They also inspected the preparations for road construction and renovation of Manaw posts at Rawan cultural grounds.
They later inspected the extension of Myitkyina-PutaO road, beautifying and landscaping works at PutaO Airport and renovation works. They also inspected the tar paving works in downtown roads and construction of Assembly Office.
