Outstanding Athletes Honoured: 29 Medalists at SEA Games from Mon State awarded

Mon State Government presented honourary awards to the outstanding athletes who won prizes in the sports competitions of South East Asia Games.

A total of 29 athletes were presented cash awards and honorary certificates at a ceremony on January 22nd. Chief Minister U Zaw Lin Tun congratulated the athletes, saying that promoting the sports standard could bring prestige to the country among the world nations.

It also contributes to nurture the nationalistic fervor of the young people. The outstanding athletes includes the winners in Archery, Sepak Takraw, Judo, Vovinam, Muay Thai, Body Building, Football, Shooting, Volleyball, Billiards and Snooker, Petanque, Hockey, Tract and Field and Kenpo.

A total of 5.55 million kyats, 250,000 kyats each of 10 gold medalists, 200,000 kyats each for 4 silver medalists and 150,000 kyats each for 15 bronze medalists were awarded during the ceremony.
