Investment in Bago: Permission Of New Investment Proposals Discussed

Bago Region Investment Committee held a meeting on January 21st, and discussed for the approval of investment proposal of a local company and two foreign companies.

It is learnt that the permission of about 5.9 billion kyats and over 4.3 million US dollars worth of investments could create more than 280 job opportunities in Bago Region. Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win said the Regional Government is providing necessary assistance for all-round development of businesses in Bago Region.

The investment proposals have been granted, especially for CMP businesses like garment industry, and factories that can employ many laborers. He also stressed the needs to provide legal protection to the employers as well as to consider for environmental conservation and to follow the regulations for industrial zone law.

From February 1st 2021 to January this year, Bago Region received over 104 million US dollars worth of foreign investment along with more than 8.3 billion kyats investment from domestic businesses, and created over 47,000 jobs for the locals.
