


The Overseas Employment Supervisory Committee held its (1/2022) coordination meeting at the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population on January 21.
Present at the meeting were the chairman of Overseas Employment Supervisory Committee Union Minister for labour U Myint Kyaing, Vice Chairman Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt. Gen. Tun Tun Naung, committee members from the ministries and organizations, chargé d' affaires of Myanmar Embassy in Thailand, labour diplomat (Bangkok), special invited guests and officials concerned from the ministries.
Speaking at the meeting, the union minister said in the application of new oversea employment agency license, if the applicant completes with the 7 designation points of the ministry, loyalty to the state, without breaking the any existing law and enabling to implement the work guidelines of the committee, the oversea employment agency licenses are being issued.
The ministry permits only Myanmar workers who hold the Passport for Job-PJ and Overseas Employment Identification Card – OWIC to depart. If OWIC is applied to depart foreign countries, it is being issued with the permission of the ministry.
Next, the secretary of Overseas Employment Supervisory Committee deputy minister U Win Shein reported the implementations of the committee in detail.
Then, the director-general of the Department of Labour U Maung Maung Than clarified the opening of Certificate of Identity- CI Centers in Samut Sakhon, Samut Prakan, Chiang Mai, Chonburi and Ranong districts as of January 10, process to send Myanmar workers to Thailand under MoU system, the issue of sending oversea employment process and Oversea Worker Identification Card (OWIC), matters carried out regarding machines and Consumables to be used in 5 CI renewal centers and one reserve center etc.
Afterward, the committee members, special invited guests attended via online and diplomats gave suggestions regarding with the clarification and the union minister supplemented and coordinated necessaries.
