COVID-19 vaccination: The Sputnik Light vaccines injected as of 19th January

The Ministry of Health is giving COVID-19 vaccination widely by specifying priority groups in Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States up to the rural villages.

The Sputnik Light vaccines received as donation under bilateral friendly relation and purchasing are being injected as of 19th January to 4,050 people in Hlaingthaya, ShwePyiTha and Insein Townships of Yangon Region. The Sputnik Light vaccine just needs to administer one time only so as to ensure more coverage of vaccination in a short time.  

The Sputnik Light vaccines will be conveyed without breaking cold chain and will be administered in the townships with low coverage of vaccination in regions and states including Yangon Region.

Regarding the completion of vaccination, up to 18th January, 2022, a total of over 21.46 million people have been vaccinated. Of them, over 17.86 million people have been vaccinated two times and over 3.6 million people once.

Therefore, a total of 39.48 million doses of COVID-19 jabs have been vaccinated. The people are urged to receive the COVID-19 vaccines, and those who have already received the first dose are encouraged to go to the nearest immunization centres and receive the second dose on the scheduled immunization date or near the due date, as well as to actively participate in the vaccination activities.
