

The coordination meeting on mitigation of border crossing smog pollution in Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw was held at the meeting room of Nay Pyi Taw Council Office in the morning on 19th January with the purposes of reducing increased Fire Hotspots caused air pollution due to the smog and ashes come out from burning of shifting cultivation field and forest fire used to be occur during the open season. Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Dr. Maung Maung Naing said that as Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw has achieved the ASEAN Environmental Sustainable Cites Award, the environmental basic norms such as availability of fresh air, providing clean water, good practices of waste management etc. in line with the characteristics of green cities should be adhered.
In the implementation of sustainable green and pleasance and development, three pillars such as environment, social and economy should be carried out putting together harmoniously. In the environmental conservation, the educating works should be conducted for the public cooperation.
The relevant departments need to coordinate for effective implementation of mitigating smog pollution from forest fire and other burnings. Then, director of Nay Pyi Taw environmental conservation department clarified the work implementations on the mitigation of border crossing smog pollution.
Next, the attendants of departmental officials discussed the relevant sectors regarding the work process of mitigating border crossing smog pollution and the member of Nay Pyi Taw Council U Zayyar Lin supplemented necessary points.
After conducting supplemented discussion, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Dr. Maung Maung Naing gave a speech of conclusion.
