COVID-19 vaccines: Union Minister joined the clarification on Sputnik vaccines

The Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than, in the evening on October 13, attended the presentation regarding with the effective protection of Sputnik-V and Sputnik Light against COVID-19 held at Global Summit on Sputnik V and Sputnik Light Russian Direct Investment Fund Gamaleya National Center in Moscow, Russia Federation via Virtual System. 

At the meeting, CEO of Russian Direct Investment Fund Mr. Kirill Dmifriev clarified the findings on efficacy and safety of Sputnik V and Sputnik Light vaccines developed from Russia Federation. The Union Minister and participants from each country inquired what they wanted to know and the responsible officials replied the queries.  

In the morning on October 14, the Union Minister gave a remark at the workshop conducted at the meeting hall of the ministry of industry to set the strategy for the surviving and development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises during and post COVID-19 pandemic.

At the workshop, the Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than said that the ministry of industry is conducting as the focal ministry for the development of MSMEs which is vital for the economic development of the country and socio-economic progress of the people. The assistance is needed to provide human resource, technical advancement and innovative idea, financial source, infrastructure development, acquiring market share, proper taxation and procedures, amenable good economic environment for the surviving and development of competitive and innovative MSMEs.

Next, the Union Minister for investment and foreign economic relations U Aung Naing Oo, Union Minister for agriculture, livestock and irrigation U Tin Htut Oo, Union Minister for cooperative and rural development U Hla Moe and Union Minister for commerce Dr. Pwint Hsan discussed to set the strategy for the development of MSMEs, to integrate with CERP and MERP in setting the strategies and the status to be collaborated for the development of MSMEs.

Afterward, the chairman of UMFCCI, MSMEs entrepreneurs, SME experts discussed the related matters. Then, the director of the Center for Economic and Social Development and secretary-general U Aye Win reviewed the discussions of MSMEs entrepreneurs and SME experts and gave necessary suggestions. The workshop will take place till the 15th October, it’s reported.
