



The coordination meeting with the volunteers and philanthropic associations from the regions and states where the COVID-19 infections are currently rising was held at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, Nay Pyi Taw on Friday through the online system.
At the meeting, the Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thet Thet Khaing said this meeting is aimed at identifying the obstacles facing on the ground by the volunteers and philanthropic associations who are collaborating in the COVID-19 prevention, control and responding efforts in its third wave, strengthening cooperation and providing requirements.
At the moment, the volunteers and philanthropic associations are providing transportation for the suspected patients to the hospitals and Quarantine Center, taking the recoveries back to their homes, providing cremation service for the patients who lose of life in line with the guidelines of the ministry of health and sports, destroying PPE suits systematically, sprinkling disinfectants. The volunteers and philanthropic associations are thankful for their active cooperation.
Next, the Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Major General Soe Tint Naing said the philanthropic associations are formed legally under the Law on the Registration of Organizations (2014). Those are grateful for their cooperation and philanthropic spirits in such a period of pandemics.
Then, Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement U Aung Tun Khaing said the health, social and economic sectors affected by the COVID-19 pandemic will be relieved as quickly as possible with the available ways and means.
With the collaborative assessments and solutions of the government, volunteers and philanthropic associations, the situation will be solved and implemented future work plans.
Afterwards, the participants in the meeting reported the implementations in the related sectors, strengths and weaknesses and requirements and the union minister gave a speech of conclusion.
