Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis attended a Orthodox Epitaph ceremony at an Athens hospital chapel on Friday.

The Epitaph ceremonies were held outside church in the open, while all the Holy Week's Masses are taking place inside with strict health measures in place due to the pandemic.

In Greece, 10,315 people have died from COVID-19 from 342,900 cases, the Greek government announced on Thursday. Greece has administered just over 3 million COVID-19 vaccine jabs so far. More than 2 million of those are first doses, while just over 910,000 people have been fully vaccinated with both doses. The country has been experiencing a surge in infections, hospitalizations and deaths in recent weeks that has strained the health system.
